Prospective students will have new tour experience
Prospective students will be able to get unique views of Southeast, starting April 24. Themes such as haunted tours, dog walks, and more are being offered to spice up the presentation of the campus.
“The campus visit is one of the most important factors when deciding what university to attend,” senior admission counselor Casey Hohler said. Therefore, we feel it is important to provide tours to accommodate the diverse interests of the students and give them the opportunity to see the campus in different ways.”
The first traditions tour will take place April 24th. The tour will highlight several of Southeast’s traditions including the ice cream pig out, midnight breakfast, the gum tree, and the Academic Dome.
“Southeast believes offering students more campus visit options allows them the opportunity to select the type of visit best reflects what they are wanting to learn about the university,” Hohler said. If a traditional campus visit is what they want great, but if not there are themed tours to offer them as well.”
“We have a few themes that we plan to rotate throughout the year,” Hohler said. These include a traditions tour, presidents tour, walk your dog tour, and in October we will offer a ghost tour.”
“We might even get to catch Rowdy singing the alma mater on the field at Houck Stadium,” Holher said.
Hohler explained that, Southeast is still in the planning process for several of these themed tours including the ghost tour, but they are working with on campus partners to include locations and information that give prospective students and families the best experience possible.
“I cannot confirm nor deny the presence of ghosts on campus,” Hohler said. Either way, I do think that this theme will be really intriguing to several prospective students. But for those who are not interested in the ghost tour, there are other lighthearted options.
