Student Government Association talked with Dr. William Eddleman, vice provost and dean of the School of Graduate Studies at Southeast Missouri State University, about the Mobile Device Access committee.
SGA discussed how they are currently reviewing Southeast's existing availability on mobile devices and are considering the possibility of making it available in an "app store" and using the mass text-messaging capability more efficiently.
The senators brought up some concerns about the current mobile device they would like to see improved upon. Many brought up the reliability of the shuttle tracker. Dylan Lloyd, senator for the College of Liberal Arts, brought up that the emergency text message service for campus wasn't working properly because every tornado he waits for the text, but never receives one.
Patrick Vining, SGA President, addressed the rumors of textbook rental shutting down. He said the university is looking to possibly outsource the bookstore, but as of now, there is nothing official and students should not panic.
Jami Conley, Student Issues Committee Chair announced that SGA will be sponsoring a showing of Annie at the River Campus Feb. 21. There will be 300 tickets available to Southeast students. After the show, there will be pizza and drinks available, and there will be SGA senators to talk to students about improvements students want to see, or things on campus they like and want to see continued.
