Southeast students who move out of their university residence hall room by March 31 will receive a credit of 45% of their Spring 2020 fees for housing and meal plans, according to a letter sent to students from Southeast president Carlos Vargas on March 26.
Students with parking passes will also receive a 45% credit to their student account, according to the letter.
This announcement comes after Southeast moved its in-person classes online on March 18 in response to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
These rates were chosen based on an effective date of March 23 through the end of the semester.
Graduating students who paid a $150 housing deposit will receive a housing deposit credit in May. All other students who paid the deposit will receive their credit in September.
Redbucks will roll over to the next academic year for returning students. Graduating students may request a refund of their Redbucks balance by contacting Cheryl Graf at Cheryl.Graf@compass-usa.com. According to the university website, the full value of the remaining Redbucks will be credited to the student’s university account.
For the select students approved to stay on campus, they will be assessed a room rate equivalent to Towers East, and a meal plan rate for the Towers dining program, according to the university website. If the student’s current room has a higher rate than Towers East, they will receive a housing credit to their account.
If a student fails to move out by April 19, they will receive a 45% fee adjustment for meal plan, but will receive a prorated housing and parking fee adjustment based on their actual move out date.
The credits should be applied to student accounts on April 3 according to Vargas, and any refunds resulting in a credit balance will be issued April 10.
