Valdis Zalite, Southeast's director of Student Support Services, will facilitate this discussion about the challenges and benefits of living on a diverse college campus.
Zalite said the event will give students exposure to other groups and people, as well as promote the idea of coming together as a student population.
"We want to address some of the common concerns among some of the students of diversity on campus," Zalite said. "We want to make sure they have an avenue to express themselves and be able to discuss some of the good things and bad things about diversity on our campus."
The event will start with a presentation highlighting facts black history month, newspaper articles and research relevant to the subject of diversity.
Participants will then split into groups to discuss diversity and how it can affect relationships.
"With so many different diversities here on college campuses, it's just good to see people's views," said Lisa Nolan, a Southeast sophomore helping with the event. Southeast junior Tyrone Hamilton, will also aid in this event.
