Residents of Glen Allen who are suffering as a result of the tornado on April 5, but lack insurance, are ineligible for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Relief) funds.
Residents were told Monday, April 10 that their losses cannot be made up.
According to the Southeast Missourian, the Director of Bollinger County Emergency Management Kevin Cooper said the disaster did not reach the requirements for FEMA funding, which is $11 million worth of damages.
Governor Mike Parson also said it would be hard for the town to qualify for disaster relief because it is such a small area.
A Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be set up in the area Wednesday April 12 and Thursday April 13 to aid residents on lost resources. There will be information provided about food stamps, health services, legal processes and more.
