The Redhawks beat Murray State 11-2 in their series opener.

The Redhawks currently stand 5-2 in the OVC, with Murray State at 1-6.

Murray State scored one run in the first inning and the score remained unchanged until the top of the fourth inning when catcher Andrew Keck got a hit down the left field line allowing utility player Peyton Leeper and infielder Tyler Wilber to score. Keck was able to make it home before the end of the inning, bringing the score to 3-1 Redhawks.

In the bottom of the fifth, outfielder Brett Graber hit a double, allowing Wilber and Keck to make it home bringing the score to 5-1.

Murray State would score one more run in the sixth inning, bringing the score to 5-2.

Southeast finished up the seventh inning adding six runs, bringing the score to 11-2, where the score would stay until the end of the game.

The Redhawks are back at Capaha Field tomorrow at 2 p.m. for game two against the Murray State Racers.
