According to election news source Reuters, in the most recent update of polling data, former President Donald Trump has been called to win North Carolina.

Trump pulled ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris, receiving 50.7% of the vote to Harris’ 47.8%.

North Carolina is one of seven heavily contested battleground states, according to the Hartford Courant, while the other six states still have votes that are being counted.

Trump claimed victory in North Carolina in the past two elections, beating out Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.

This win gives Trump 16 additional electoral votes, becoming a crucial win for the Trump campaign.
