TTU opened up the game taking it to the RedHawks on an 8-2 run. Junior guard Rob Martin answered back with some tough shots to keep the RedHawks from falling behind.
The RedHawks defense coming out of their first timeout is what brought them back into the game, causing TTU to have multiple turnovers which led to the Redhawks fighting back to gain a lead over TTU. The Redhawks answered with tough buckets in the paint and clutch three-point shots to increase their lead.
The Redhawks went on an 11-2 run against TTU late in the first half to give the Redhawks a 20 point lead over the TTU going into halftime, with the scorebeing 31-21.

Teddy Washington Jr. led the team in scoring with 21 points, followed by Rob Martin with 17 points and junior forward Brendan Terry adding on 15 points to assist the RedHawks in the win.
Head Coach Brad Korn spoke on what he loves the most about his players.
“The thing I love about them the most is that none of them get small when we coach them hard. And then to add on to that they are good players,” Korn said.
Junior Guard Rob Martin shone again tonight for the Redhawks, showing his consistency on the offense.
Martin spoke on how he is able to perform consistently every night for the RedHawks.
“Man I feel like it just starts in practice working out and just getting reps. You get reps in each and every day. Then you go in the game and go in with that confidence. And just know that, I’m not going to lie every time I shoot the mid-range I think it’s money,” Martin said.
Senior Guard Teddy Washington Jr. credited the team for his offensive performance, saying their trust allowed him to succeed.
“It started early. My teammates were just looking for me and I was just trying to take the right shots. And it was just an all night thing you know what I’m saying. They just trust me and me making the play.” Washington Jr. said.
With the Redhawks now winning seven games straight, they now tie the program record for longest winning streak.
Korn spoke on how they keep the momentum going from game to game.
“I think it speaks from just the competitiveness of our guys. You know the players are the ones that create, you know it’s nothing that I do,” Korn said.
Korn spoke on how he feels about the upcoming schedule they have left in the season before playoffs.
“At this point in the year we’re four games left, I mean every game is the next biggest game because it’s the next one. You don’t get any more points or any more wins if you beat Lindenwood or Western Illinois, so every game has an equal value in the win/loss column at this point.” Korn said.
The Redhawks next game is Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m here in Cape Girardeau, MO at the Show Me Center as they prepare to take on Western Illinois University.
