SEMO's bid for a third OVC tournament title was thwarted by SIUE, losing 69-48. Despite a strong season and recent win, SEMO struggled offensively and with rebounds, ending their season 21-11.

The SEMO men’s basketball team was defeated by SIUE on Saturday, March 8 by a score of 69-48 losing the OVC tournament title.

The Redhawks entered the game coming off of a dominant win against Little Rock, and with a 2-0 record against SIUE, looking to secure their third tournament trophy in school history.

During the game the Redhawks struggled offensively, ending the game shooting 28% from the field, and only making 2 of their last 20 shots in the game.

The Redhawks also struggled with rebounding with SIUE having 19 more total rebounds than the Redhawks, leading to 13 points off of rebounds.

Junior guard Rob Martin finished the game with 18 points for the Redhawks, enough to lead the team in scoring.

The Redhawks end the season with an overall record of 21-11, and a regular season OVC championship, setting multiple school records along the way.
