SEMO men's basketball clinches their first-ever outright OVC title with a win over SIUE, extending their record-breaking 10-game win streak and securing a top seed in the postseason tournament.

On Thursday Feb. 27, the SEMO Men’s basketball team defeated SIUE by a score of 83-68 securing an outright OVC regular season championship.

During the game junior guard Rob Martin led the team in scoring, tying his career high with 31 points, and senior guard Teddy Washington Jr. also tied his career high, with 28 points.

This is the first outright championship the Redhawks have ever secured in school history, also securing the number one seed in the postseason OVC tournament.

Along the way to this achievement, the Redhawks have won 10 games straight, breaking the longest win streak in program history, and extending their OVC record to 15-5, tying the most conference wins in a season.

This win also pushed the Redhawks overall record to 20-10, giving them their first 20 win season in 25 years.

The Redhawks play their last game of the season on Saturday, March 1 at 3:30 in Charleston, Illinois.
