The red-hot Redhawks are 8-1 and riding a seven-game winning streak as they head into their rivalry matchup against Lindenwood. SEMO enters the game ranked No. 6 in the nation, the highest in program history. Last year, the Redhawks cruised past Lindenwood with a dominant 45-7 victory.

Lindenwood enters the game with a 4-6 record, including 3-3 in conference play. The Lions are looking to bounce back from a challenging start to the season and finish at .500 for the year.

Keys to victory-

Winning the ground game-

SEMO’s running back group has been one of the biggest surprises of the season, especially considering the injuries that have hit the position. Despite losing their top three backs—Peyton Brown, Brandon Epton Jr., and Darell Smith—the Redhawks are still averaging 94.6 rushing yards per game. Today, Cole Ruble will be the one carrying the load for SEMO. Lindenwood, however, has struggled to stop the run this year, allowing an average of 109 rushing yards per game to opposing teams.

Hold onto the football-

The weather in St. Charles, Missouri, is expected to be less than ideal for football, with rain, gusty winds, and temperatures dropping below 50 degrees. In these slippery conditions, ball security will be key. SEMO has been excellent in that regard, losing just three fumbles all season and recovering five. Meanwhile, Lindenwood has struggled with turnovers, giving up the ball six times this year. SEMO will need to stay vigilant in protecting the football while also looking to capitalize on the weather to force turnovers and gain an edge.

Force Lindenwood to run the ball-

Lindenwood features one of the top wide receivers in the OVC in Jeff Caldwell, who has racked up 843 receiving yards and nine touchdowns this season. His ability to stretch the field makes him a dangerous weapon in the passing game. However, the Lions have struggled on the ground, averaging just 73 rushing yards per game, which plays into SEMO's strength. The Redhawks have been solid against the run, allowing only 111.3 rushing yards per game. With the weather conditions likely to make the ground game challenging for both teams, the passing game could become a focal point, and Lindenwood won't hesitate to air it out, especially with Caldwell capable of making big plays downfield.

SEMO and Lindenwood will kick off at 1:00 PM today in the "Game Ball Brawl," with the Redhawks aiming to secure back-to-back victories in this rivalry matchup.
