Unmasking fun: Cape Con 2024 brings comics and community to Cape Girardeau

Located in Cape Girardeau, Cape Con 2024 is set to arrive early November. The comic convention invites fans to immerse themselves in the world of comics, gaming, and pop culture. Set to take place Nov. 1-3 at SEMO’s Show Me Center, Cape Con 2024 promises an exciting array of events and guests for the community to connect with.

This year’s lineup of guests includes David H. Thornton, from the Terrifier movies, Andrew Gray, from the Power Rangers, Jennie Kwan from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and more. These celebrities will be available for panels, photo ops, and other opportunities for engagement.

As attendees look forward to meeting an impressive lineup of guests, Cape Con 2024 also boasts a diverse schedule of events that promise to engage and entertain. From informative panels to interactive workshops, there’s something for everyone, ensuring a memorable experience for fans of all ages.

These events include a Cosplay Contest, iCon gaming tournaments, guest panels, and more. There will also be a venue for refreshments, called the Yawning Portal Cafe. The Yawning Portal Cafe will feature a Dungeons and Dragons theme, with refreshments and pastries for guests to enjoy.

On Nov. 1, the first showroom will open at 3:00 pm. Con-goers can purchase tickets online or in person at the Show Me Center, with prices ranging from $45-$65 for the different ticket packages.

There will be a variety of vendors, providing themed goods for attendees. These vendors include 3B Comics, Blue Wing Creations, and Cakes Reanimated.

And Cape Con didn’t forget about the youngsters. For kid-friendly activities, there will be a Superhero Storytime, a Pokemon meetup, and Amazing Face Painting by Zor Zapata.
