SEMO basketball has returned as students make their way back to campus. Over winter break, the men’s team competed in eight games, achieving a 6-2 record, while the women’s team also played eight games, finishing with a 3-5 record.

The men’s team holds a 4-2 record in conference play, with both of their games this week being crucial conference matchups. Meanwhile, the women’s team stands at 2-4 and aims to reach a .500 record with their upcoming conference games this week.

Both teams return to action on January 14 at the Show Me Center, taking on Little Rock. The women’s game tips off at 5:15 PM, followed by the men’s game at 7:30 PM. Fans and students are encouraged to wear black and arrive early, as the first 1,500 attendees will receive black SEMO Redhawk jerseys. A victory for the men’s team would boost their record to 10-8, while a win for the women’s team would improve their record to 5-11.

The Redhawk basketball teams have more action this week beyond their matchup with Little Rock. On Thursday, January 16, both teams hit the road to face Tennessee Tech.

With conference play in full swing, these two games could play a pivotal role in shaping conference seeding for the tournament in February.
